The Boca Grande Community Center held its 24th Annual Bicycle Parade last Saturday and it turned out to be a beautiful day. Many families got involved this year because of the fabulous theme the Woman's Club came up with (Under the Sea Dive Right In). We had five non-profit organizations, five commercial groups, seventeen open groups, and thirteen children entries. It was all for fun, and I know everyone had a great time.
I would like to thank the Boca Grande Fire Department and Lee County Sheriff's Department for doing an outstanding job keeping everyone safe during the parade. I also need to thank all of the volunteers who helped make this event so terrific and of course the Judges who made the parade fair and fun for everyone. I know they had a real hard time choosing the winners because the decorated golf carts were so awesome this year. Thanks again to the Boca Grande Community for making this event so special to all.
The judges consisted of Bill Winterer, Jim Miller, Misty Nichols, Kim Kyle and Larry Warner. The volunteers were Pete Seager, Richard Simonds, Pat Chapman, Corky Subak, Nancy Lingeman, John and Christine Holyland, Ross and Irene Robbins. They all did a great job!
