Without the skilled leadership of Lyman Randall, the Boca Grande Literature Forum would not be what it is today. After the death of its founder, Joan Zabarsky, Lyman stepped in to enhance the format and to elevate the Literature Forum to the current, important place it holds on the island.
Lyman was a well-prepared discussion leader and group participant as well as a marvelous extemporaneous speaker admired for the rich tones of his speaking voice and his ease with words.
Using the guidelines and mission statement formulated by Lyman and his committee, the Literature Forum will strive to honor his legacy by continuing to bring outstanding literary discussion to Boca Grande and to welcome all to its meetings.
I speak for the entire Steering Committee to say that we are honored to dedicate the 2009-2010 Literature Forum series to Lyman Randall.
Sincerely,
Sandy Jacobs
