Word on the Island.

Kelli Sillaway, Longwood, teacher: "From what I've seen of the Gulf Stream, maybe it will miss us, but anything can happen."

Buck Rapp, Sebring, teacher: "I don't think we're going to get hit. But even if we do, Florida beaches are easier to clean up than marshy Louisiana and Mississippi coastlines."
