The Boca Grande Woman's Club is a wonderful volunteer organization. One of the best services provided by the small group of women under the capable leadership of Ginny Bryant is scholarship assistance to a limited number of outstanding graduates. We don't just limit our assistance to them entering their first year of college. We also follow them right through their educational experience.
It is important that prospective scholarship winners and those already using awarded scholarships understand the assistance is not automatically ongoing. Scholarships must be applied for each semester in a timely manner and are always subject to meeting academic achievement standards and financial need measurements.
We ask seniors at Lemon Bay High School and past recipients of Boca Grande Woman's Club scholarships to be diligent about the process and assume responsibility for ensuring they request aid each semester.
We welcome any student to apply to the Woman's Club for financial assistance and all information on the completed form is held in strict confidence. Certain criteria must be met:
Be a senior in good standing at Lemon Bay High School with demonstrated financial need.
Be a resident of Boca Grande for at least one year, be the child of such a resident or be a child of a parent who is employed full time on the island and has been for at least two years.
Be college bound
Have a B average or better
Submit a completed LBHS scholarship application form to the Lemon Bay High School guidance counselor by March 1.
Complete a Boca Grande Woman's Club financial questionnaire by March 1 and mail it to: Mrs. Henry Bryant, PO Box 1674, Boca Grande FL 33921
