John W. Cahill, 82, of Englewood died Friday in Port Charlotte.
Cahill was born June 8, 1928, in Bronx, N.Y., to John F. and Grace (Dever) Cahill. He retired from AT&T, was a member of St. Raphael's Catholic Church and a veteran of WWII serving with the U.S. Navy.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy A. Cahill; daughters, Linda A. Syme of Highland Lakes, N.J. and Laurie J. McNulty of Paramus, N.J.; grandchildren, Nicole, Matthew, Daniel, Colleen and Rachel; and step-daughter, Helen Picciano of New York.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. today at Lemon Bay Funeral Home Englewood Chapel.
Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Raphael's Catholic Church, Englewood.
