Born in Boca Grande Feb. 26, 1925, to the late Idawill Ormesby and Jerome Fugate, Elinor was a loving sister to the late Delmar and Jerome Fugate; and loving wife to the late Edward H Butler of Sharon, Mass.
She is survived by three children; Michael and Edward in Massachusetts and Cynthia in Port Charlotte. Butler was also a loving grandmother to Michael, Stephanie, Carl, Robbie and Tyler; and great-grandmother to Jasmine, Jaelin, Jack, Reed, and Nathan.
She taught Sunday School in Massachusetts and worked many years for Shaw's Supermarkets before retiring in Florida. She enjoyed golfing, yard sales and visiting her native island home. She's finally going back to her beloved Boca Grande.
A memorial service will be held at the Boca Grande Lighthouse United Methodist Church at 4 p.m. June 18. For all those who remember Ellie, please come.
