Patricia Anne Purtee, 61

Patricia Anne Purtee passed away at home Friday, June 3.

Purtee was born July 18, 1949, in Vero Beach to Jeannette and Manley D Kersey. After her father died, her mother moved the family to Bridgeport, N.Y., where she graduated from North Syracuse High (with Richard Gere) in 1966.

After retiring to Englewood, she was the owner of Parcels Plus from 1996 to 2005.

She had many skills ranging from superior cook to artistic decorator. She enjoyed oil painting, ceramics, flower arranging and ballroom dancing. While living in Pittsfield, Mass., she worked at Classic Ladies apparel and substituted as a cook at the school cafeteria. She was active at the First United Methodist Church.

In Saratoga Springs, N.Y., she was active with hospice fund-raising and was the chairman for one year. Pat is survived by her husband of 35 years, Eldean Purtee; mother, Jeanette Stowell of Phoneix, N.Y.; daughters, Christine Ransom of Ballston Spa, N.Y., Debbie Crutchfield of Lebanon, Tenn., and Crystal Walsh of Port Charlotte; son, Jeff Purtee of Smyrna, Tenn.; sister, Linda Compson of Fulton, N.Y.; brother, David Kersey of Penneville, N.Y.; and grandchildren, Lillian and Robert Walsh. She hwas preceded in death by brothers, Dennis and Raymond Kersey.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be sent in Pat’s name to Tidewell Hospice.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Englewood Methodist Church in the Doan Chaple. Viewing hours at the Lemon Bay Funeral Home in Englewood will be from from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. today.
