She was surrounded by her husband, Bud Large and three children: Christine (Charlie) Newell, Nancy (Steve) Koscoe and Ken (Karen) Meinke.
She was preceded in death by sister, Juanita Brigstock, and is survived by her sister, Patricia Kirkpatrick.
Large was born in Battle Creek, Mich., Feb. 21, 1930. She married Bud Large in 1973 and after years of vacationing in Englewood, it became their permanent home in 1990.
Together they have eight children, including their “adopted daughter” Debi Burr, 18 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
Large was an amazing mother, grandmother, loving wife and fabulous friend to all who knew her. She was known to many as “the cookie lady,” famous for her renowned chocolate cookies.
A Celebration of Life in her honor will be held from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. July 16 at their home at 143 Rotonda Circle, Rotonda West.
