Terrence Jay Edwards, 65

Terrence "Terry" Jay Edwards, 65, died in his Englewood home July 27.

Born May 3, 1946, in Fredrick, Md., to Frank G. and Anna M. Edwards, he was an avid hunter and fisherman while living in West Virginia but after moving to Florida in the mid-1970s his real love of fishing bloomed.

Edwards served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam era and received several medals and commendations. He was proud of the 6,714 days he was a good friend of Bill W.

He loved his cat Frankie, often took in strays, and always looked out for the welfare of his fellow man.

He was preceded in death by his parents and survived by his brother Garry L. (Roxanne) of Vero Beach, and his sister, Cheri Ware of Winter Haven, as well as many nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Aug. 4 at Lemon Bay Funeral Home. The family will hold a private burial at a later date.
