Word on the Island: What home schedule changes are caused by school starting?

August 12, 2011
Gasparilla Gazette

Karen Rand, Island School art teacher, South Gulf Cove: "I work off island and my life shuts down at 2:30 p.m. to get here. But it's good to be back in school."

Michelle Hunter, administrative assistant, Island School: "It's not a whole lot different. I was here all summer and have a son I have to kick off to college every day."

Rosa Ramos, principal, Island School: "Definite changes. I have to be at school at 6:45 a.m. so I can get the administrative part of it out of the way before I need to give my complete attention to the students."
