Margaret S. Albrecht, 92, of Englewood died peacefully Sunday, Sept.18 at her residence.
Born in Indianapolis May 2, 1919, to Ann (Orovis) Burgess and Albert Burgess, she worked in jewelry sales at Service Merchandise in Hialeah and at the Miami Herald before retiring in 1981.
She dedicated 12 years of her life to the Foreign Mission Field in Liberia and Sierra, Leone, where her husband, Ralph Albrecht, was building schools, hospitals and mission housing.
In 1981 she and her husband retired to Englewood where she taught creative writing classes. She was a published author of several books about mission life and short stories for children.
During her time in Englewood she attended Calvary Baptist Church and West Charlotte Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph G. Albrecht; daughter-in-law, Sheila Albrecht, married to Ron Albrecht; and Ray Dillard, son-in-law, married to Ann Dillard.
Survivors include sons, Douglas M. Albrecht (Prudence), Ronald Albrecht; Ann Dillard, all of Venice; . five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
