The Boca Grande Community Center would like to thank all the runners and walkers who participated in the first Gasparilla Island 4 Mile Run and Walk.
The event seemed to be fun, but warm for the 155 runners/walkers who participated.
We would like to thank Nancy Lingeman, Mark, Jinx and Alex Horan, Frank Newlin, Patsy Fyfe, Bill and Patty Holmberg, Rachel Damioli, Kathy Kletke, Len Tatko, Jane Caple and Jim Cochrun who volunteered as course monitors and race helpers.
The Boca Grande Fire Department & Lee County Sheriff's Office deserve a huge thank you for helping ensure the safety of all the runners and residents during the race.
We would like to give a special thank you to our major sponsors Parsley-Baldwin Realty for donating the two grand door prizes valued at $700 each, Boca Grande Isles for allowing the race to take place in their community and the Friends of Boca Grande for all of their support.
We also want to say thank you to Zoomer's Running and Triathlon Club for doing a great job on the race timing /results and Active Sun Coast for donating two free Frosty 5K entries.
