Halloween Carnival creeps closer on Boca Grande

October 19, 2011
Gasparilla Gazette

To the editor:

Children, start thinking about your costume and decide if you are going to be scary, funny, cute or adorable for the Annual Boca Grande Community Center Halloween Carnival from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Oct. 29

The Carnival will start off with a costume contest at 4 p.m. sharp for age groups 0-3, 4-5, 6-8, 9-12 and the Family/Group division. Registration will take place in front of the outside stage from 3:30 p.m. 3:50 p.m. Awards and ribbons will be given to every child.

After the contest, everyone is invited to participate in homemade carnival games, taking a chance at the dunk tank, joining in on the cake walk or enjoying fabulous refreshments from the Black Cat Caf. Wristbands will be sold for $5 for games and tickets can be purchased for food and the cakewalk.

This year we are asking families to donate one bag or more of individually wrapped soft candy per child. Please drop the candy off no later than Wednesday, Oct. 26.

We are always looking for volunteers to staff the game booths, sell tickets, pass out food, and help out with overall preparations of the carnival. If you would like to volunteer or donate a cake for the popular cake walk, please call the Community Center at 964-2564. See all of you soon at the Boca Grande Community Center Halloween Carnival.
