The public fishing pier on Fort Myers Beach at Lynn Hall Memorial Park will close for repairs Nov. 14-18.
The restoration project funded by the Tourist Development Council is to be completed in mid-January. The project includes replacing the wood railing along the pier and the dune walkovers, replacing the water lines and electrical conduit and wiring along the pier in addition to re-coating the walking surface with traffic-bearing membrane. Improvements will also take place to the piling and under the fishing pier.
Anglers and visitors are welcome to use the fishing pier under the Matanzas Bridge on Matanzas Bridge Fishing Pier off San Carlos Island. A saltwater fishing license is required for Florida residents who fish from shore, however, there is no fee for the license for Florida residents.
