Motorists face stepped-up Click It or Ticket police activities around the clock Thanksgiving week, said Charlotte County Sheriff William Cameron.
Deputy First Class Mark Schaible of the CCSO Traffic Safety Team, dressed in plaid shorts, a hat and shirt, worked the busy corner of U.S. 41 and Cochran Boulevard in Port Charlotte Friday. He held a cardboard sign with a handwritten message, "Click it or Ticket," while looking for seatbelt violations.
Schaible radioed in violators as they drove past him to awaiting Traffic Safety Team deputies nearby who issued a ticket.
