Charlotte County Sheriff's Major Crimes Unit detectives say no one was injured Monday night in a shooting incident at Bingo Trail, 1200 Tamiami Trail, Port Charlotte.
An exchange of gunfire took place between CCSO K9 deputy Sean Franko, 40, and Henry Albert Holbrook, 43, 20414 Mt. Prospect Ave., Port Charlotte.
At 6:54 p.m., a man entered the bingo hall waving a handgun. Holbrook reportedly pointed the gun directly at a woman, patrons began yelling at him and he put the handgun behind his back and exited the building.

Franko said he saw Holbrook with a handgun standing by a pillar at the end of the strip center. The deputy told him to drop the weapon and Holbrook fired five shots at him, breaking the front door of Dollar General next to the bingo hall.
Franko pointed his gun at Holbrook, who raised his hand with the gun and Franko fired two shots at him. Holbrook then ran around the corner of the building and another deputy arrived with a patrol rifle and told him to get on the ground. Holbrook complied. At 7 p.m., Holbrook was in custody with his .38 caliber revolver on the ground a few feet away.
"There were a lot of angels looking over the Bingo Hall tonight," said Sheriff Mike Cameron.
Holbrook was charged with attempted murder on a law enforcement officer, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and resisting an officer. He remains in the Charlotte County Jail without bond.
