An 18-year-old Port Charlotte man found on the roof of a Port Charlotte church was arrested for trying to take a photo of himself next to a cross to put on his Facebook account.
Jonathan Michael Sawyer, 20236 Peachland Blvd., Port Charlotte, was charged with felony criminal mischief to a church.
Sawyer used the air conditioners to get on a lower level of the roof, then stood on the vents to get to the main rooftop around 3 p.m. Nov. 24 at New Day Christian Church, 20212 Peachland Blvd.

Sawyer reportedly crushed a large exhaust vent and damaged a smaller vent was also damaged with replacement costs estimated at $600. Deputies say Sawyer's shoe tread patterns were found on the roof and damaged vents.
Sawyer was jailed on $1,500 bond.
