Craig Borden Wolcott, 68, of Cape Haze died suddenly at home Dec. 23, 2011.
He grew up in Red Bank, N.J., spending time on the Navesink River and at the Monmouth Boat Club where he was an avid sailor.
Wolcott graduated from George Washington University and made a career in finance and real estate. Love of the sea carried him to the Bahamas, the Virgin Islands, the New England coast and finally Boca Grande in 1996.
For 16 years he operated Boca Boats and Charters and captained his own boat, "Katara."
Survivors include Kathleen, his wife of 44 years; Tara, beloved daughter and the light of his life; son-in-law, Wally Diehl; sister, Carol Sawyer of Wayland, Mass.; and nieces, Amy and Rebecca.
He is predeceased by his parents, Elizabeth Ryan Wolcott and Reginald Borden Wolcott.
Craig lived his life with a unique sense of humor, a larger-than-life personality, and an optimistic outlook.
In lieu of donations, the family wishes for each person touched by Craig's life to find the courage to follow their dreams and to live their lives with integrity and honesty, as Craig lived his. Craig will be forever missed.
