Tampa General Doctors said the infant had three to five skull fractures and a left arm mid-radial fracture. The survey also revealed the child had different fractures in different stages of healing. Doctors toldd detectives the injuries were not caused by Shaken Baby Syndrome but more than likely were caused by some type of blunt force trauma.

Mercado posted a $5,000 bond Monday and was released from the Charlotte County Jail.
