The railroad spur ended in Boca Grande.

Participants included the Charlotte County Sheriff's Office Marine Unit, several members of the CCSO Volunteer Service Marine Unit, Officer J. Hoover of the Fish and Wildlife Commission, Joe Dimina of Charlotte County Environmental Services, CCSO Environmental Deputy First Class Phil Traniello, Charlotte County Parks and Recreation, Project Manager Tara Musselman and Andy Stevens, and five inmates from the Charlotte County Jail trustee worker program.

Inmates from the Charlotte County Jail trustee worker program fished all sorts of garbage out of the waters around the trestle.

The trash was brought back to the Placida dock, loaded into a County Parks dump truck then taken to the county landfill. The trash was from campers, fisherman and also floated in from the tides, Musselman said.
