What at first appears to be a defaced dead sea turtle is actually the result of the work of volunteers who inspected the remains on a Palm Island beach. After the inspection of the loggerhead turtle stranding was completed photographs are sent to the Florida Wildlife Commission and the remains spray painted to indicate it had been inspected and recorded. The spray paint also prevents trophy taking, FWC officials said.
