The Charlotte County Sheriff's Office will pay special attention to traffic enforcement at these locations from April 9-15:
Speed: The length of Placida Road where 40 crashes involving 71 vehicles in 2010 injured 14 causing $127,200 in damages; and Veterans Boulevard in Port Charlotte.
Traffic signals: San Casa Boulevard where 18 crashes in 2010 involved 41 vehicles, injuring 13, causing $110,250 in damages.

The Department of Highway Safety & Motor Vehicles reports Charlotte County has seven vehicle deaths this year compared with eight the same time last year. Total 2011 fatalities were 26.
