The namesake of the 20th annual Hank Wright Auction and Golf Tournament at Lemon Bay Golf Club will once again be on the links this year.
Dr. Hank Wright, 88, has joked for years that he appreciated the fact it was not yet the Hank Wright Memorial Auction and Golf Tournament.
The 20th Annual Hank Wright Cocktail Party and Silent Auction, with non-tournament participants welcome, starts the festivities at 6 p.m. April 12 at the Gasparilla Inn Beach Club. Call 964-0099 to buy tickets.

Hank Wright raffle tickets nearly gone
The new Hank Wright raffle car for the Boca Grande Health Clinic Foundation will net the winner a 2012 Fiat 500C Lounge model.
“It’s the perfect island car,” said Mary Anne Hastings, managing director Boca Grande Health Clinic Foundation Inc.
The drawing will be held April 12 at the 20th annual Hank Wright Auction to support the Boca Grande Health Clinic.
Donations of $100 are suggested for each of 700 tickets. Fewer than 200 tickets are left. Call 964-0099 for details.
It is your only chance to participate. The tourney is full at 27 teams.
The shotgun start tees off at 9:30 a.m. April 13 after a continental breakfast at Lemon Bay Golf Club.
The tourney and auction generated more than $140,000 for the Boca Grande Health Clinic last year even in the depths of the Great Recession.

"It was a resounding success," said Mary Anne Hastings, Boca Grande Health Clinic Foundation managing director. "We surpassed our goal by more than a bit."
The Hank Wright Tournament is a critical component in paying the $1 million annual clinic deficit. Annual giving brings in $400,000, this one special event is budgeted for $120,000 and the rest comes from portfolio and endowment accounts.
Roughly 130 golfers on 26 teams joined more than 250 people who attended last year's auction.
Andy Ireland, Nancy Ireland, Dutch Ireland, Brenda Carlin and Jim Carlin won the low net. Ed Reefe, Bruce Stirling, Nora Lea Reefe, Peter Soderberg and Tom Cross were low gross champs.
