April 16, 2012
Gasparilla Gazette

Police have levied felony charges after learning of an uncertified mixed martial arts event promoted by Angela Harrison, 36, Brandon Harrison, 27, and his stepson, Gauge Ford, 17.

Detectives with the Bravo District Criminal Investigations Division accessed Facebook accounts with video posts of juvenile and young adult males engaging in full head contact fighting. Detectives met with the School Resource Officer at East Lee County High School to identify individuals in the videos.

Participants wore padded gloves and fought until one could no longer continue due to their injuries.

Police arrested the trio April 13 for promoting or sponsoring an unlicensed boxing match," a third-degree felony.

The event was allegedly held at 1407 Hightower Ave. South, Lehigh Acres in November 2011.
