Charlotte County Sheriff's Major Crimes Unit detectives arrested an Englewood man for home invasion Monday evening of an apartment at 7439 San Casa Blvd. in Englewood.

Kyle Kenneth Hampton, 24, 9285 Fruitland Ave., was charged with home invasion robbery with a firearm.

CCSO received a call at 6:50 p.m. from the victim who said a man dressed in black and wearing a white T-shirt with eyes cut out, robbed him at gunpoint and took cash from his wallet after forcing his way into the apartment saying if he didn't give him money he would kill him.

The victim said he recognized Hampton's voice after visiting with him earlier in the day.

Neighbors told deputies they saw a man in black run through back yards and get into a green car parked at 10th Street near Rose Street. Deputies learned Hampton drove to a home on Cindy Street where they reportedly located a black semi-automatic style airsoft handgun, black clothing and T-shirt where Hampton changed clothes.

Deputies went to Hampton's home and stopped him in his 1994 green Chrysler. The victim identified Hampton as the robber.

Hampton was transported to the Charlotte County Jail where he remains on no bond.
