We have incorporated a new twist into the Boca Grande Area Chamber of Commerce's 22nd Annual Ladies Day Tarpon Tournament - a tournament logo.

We have never had a tournament logo until now. Each year we put out a call to artists for the official tournament poster art but this is our first logo.

The 2012 Boca Grande Area Chamber of Commerce Ladies Day Tarpon Tournament is proud to reveal this year's logo representing the theme "X Marks the Spot" designed by artist Kelly Reark Borza.

Ladies Day Tarpon Tournament logo by Kelly Reark Borza

Borza has been drawing and painting wildlife for more than 20 years. She has always loved the outdoors and the beauty of her surroundings as a native Floridian. Growing up fishing and diving in Florida and the Caribbean, it is no surprise that the wildlife native to these shores, estuaries, reefs, and blue waters are Borza's passion.

Marlin, sailfish, tarpon, and other game fish fill Kelly's sketchbooks, photos and canvases. First-hand experience catching and releasing exquisite marine fish continually inspires Borza to create new works and she is well known for her painted tarpon.

In 2002, Borza began exhibiting artwork at billfish tournaments in the Carolinas and in art shows in Boca Grande, Placida and Englewood.

Her work has been in Boca Grande art galleries and in Marlin Magazine's Offshore Art Gallery for years.

Borza paints originals for fishing tournaments, including Boca Grande's tarpon tournaments. In 2010 and 2011 she painted one-of-a-kind tarpon mounts (now on display at Hudson's Grocery and Gasparilla Properties in Boca Grande) for the Boca Grande Island School's Tarpon Ball.

Works are now on display at the Temptation's Caribbean Room and Park Avenue Liquor Store in Boca Grande and in Englewood at the Royal Palm Marina and Lasbury Tracy real estate building.

She was chosen as the logo artist for the Boca Grande Area Chamber of Commerce's Ladies Day Tarpon Tournament in 2012. Her tarpon logo will be on Tervis tumblers and shirts. Meet Kelly and see some of her work at the Art Festival in Boca Grande during Tarpon Festival Weekend May 19-20.

In 2006, she launched her website, KellyReark.com,. She paints and sculpts out of her home studio in Southwest Florida.
