Hunter Dow caught the most fish among 20 competitors in the 10-15 age group to land the last Youth Fishing Tournament title of the season May 5 at the Boca Grande Fishing Pier.
"The weather was beautiful but fishing was a little scattered," said Joe Wir of the Lee County Parks and Recreation Department. "The kids hooked into a few mangrove snapper, grouper, flounder, grunts and some lizard fish."
Wier said the tournaments would not be possible without the Friends of Boca Grande Community Center, Charlotte County Parks & Recreation for the use of the pier and Boca Grande Marina for all the live shrimp and support.
D.J. Keisling helped Wier out at the tournament.
The next Youth Fishing Tournament will be held Saturday, Sept. 8. Call Wier at 964-2564.
