Co-owner Julie Camp of the Pink Pony on Boca Grande became the second victim of a golf cart grand theft and vandalism sometime between 11 p.m. Saturday, June 16, and 9 a.m. Sunday, June 17.
The cart valued at $8,000 was pulled from a saltwater retention pond off Gulf Boulevard, roughly two blocks from Belcher Road, the nearest intersection. Police say the golf cart was also involved in a hit-and-run accident although they gave no other details on the collision. It had been stolen from the business at 471 Park Ave. sometime after 11 p.m. Saturday, Camp told police.
Police say they have no suspects just as in the June 5 incident in which a golf cart stolen in Boca Grande was dumped in Boca Bayou and judged a total loss at $5,000.
