Owners Tom and Elizabeth Munz have put Bokeelia Island and the mansion they restored over the past 23 years up for sale for $29.5 million.
The asking price sets a sales record for a single piece of Southwest Florida residential property.
The existing record Florida sales price for a family residence and property is $17.5 million for a Longboat Key home. The record Lee County sale came March 2 when a Boca Grande home at 3561 Shore Lane sold for $10.5 million.

The Munzs bought Little Bokeelia in 1989 for $1.5 million. The couple already had a home on nearby Useppa Island.
Bokeelia Island is 104-acres of semi-developed tropical paradise nestled near Boca Grande in the mouth of Charlotte Harbor. Brokerage firm Michael Saunders & Co. said the property is drawing international attention.
Little Bokeelia has 28 buildable lots with power and water. The property also has a 6,500-square-foot mansion dating to the 1920s with a wood-beamed ceiling, large arched windows and water views on the east and west sides.
