The Charlotte County Sheriff's Office say deputies have shut down a working methamphetamine lab in a vacant home at 37591 Washington Loop Road east of Punta Gorda.

Dustin Hays Roth, 28, 37611 Washington Loop Road, Punta Gorda; Sarah Ann Passaro, 21, 128 Annapolis Lane, Rotonda West; and Boyd Levi Worth, 44, 6332 SW Miami Avenue, Arcadia, were arrested.

CCSO road deputies responded to a possible home burglary call at 6 a.m. Thursday and observed a brown Cadillac behind the home with Passaro in the driver's seat.

Deputies say Roth and Worth were standing by the kitchen stove in a house full of smoke. Believing they may have started a fire, deputies entered the home to make sure they were safe. Upon entering, deputies observed the kitchen stove and a hairdryer were causing the smoke with a bottle with material next to the stove that looked like methamphetamine being cooked.

The house was cleared, narcotics detectives called, and a search warrant obtained. The Charlotte County Hazmat Unit responded, entered the home, collected equipment and made sure the scene was safe.

Narcotics detectives reported a Pyrex baking dish with methamphetamine and plastic tubing in the bathroom sink, several broken batteries plus four Zip Lock bags with Meth.

Passaro's purse was reportedly located in a bedroom closet with quantities of Alprazolam, Oxycodone and Valium pills; a digital scale, several syringes, two spoons with opiate residue, two plastic bags with meth residue; and four packs of Pseudoephedrine. A search of the vehicle Passaro was driving turned up hallucinogenic mushrooms.

All three remain in the Charlotte County Jail on various bond amounts. Roth, Worth and Passaro were charged with burglary, manufacturing methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine and narcotics Paraphernalia. Passaro was charged with possession of Oxycodone and hallucinogenic mushrooms.

Roth received additional charges in connection with undercover narcotics purchases April 3-4, including two counts each sale and delivery of methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine and narcotics paraphernalia.

The home owner said the home was being sold and the closing was Friday.
