Donald L. Preszler, 86, of Rotonda West died July 19.
Born March 18, 1926, in Tolstoy, S.D., to Edward and Elizabeth (Switzart) Preszler, he moved to the Gasparilla Island area 20 years ago from Denver.
He retired as a vice president of Ken R. White Consulting Engineering Firm in Denver. He graduated from the University of North Dakota and was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
He was a licensed Colorado architect and a registered professional engineer. He was also a member of the Consulting Engineer Council and served as a member of the American Arbitration Association.
He traveled to many countries in his professional career and enjoyed music and fishing the streams of Colorado and the Gulf of Mexico.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Elaine; nephews, Charles Tebelius, Ken and Steve Ebel; Lance, Eric, Karl and Mark Hoffman; nieces, Maxine Close, Linda Christiansen and Phylis Mooney; sisters-in-law, Gloria and Edithe Hoffman; brother-in-law Gene Hoffman. He was predeceased by his sister, Loretta Tebelius.
A celebration of life will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Faith Lutheran Church of Rotonda.
