An open house on proposed Charlotte County Enterprise Zone boundaries is scheduled for 9 a.m. to noon Thursday, Aug. 2, at the Charlotte Harbor Event & Conference Center, 75 Taylor St., Punta Gorda.
The Enterprise Zone will provide tax advantages and incentives to encourage private sector investment. Following the public open house, boundaries will be sent to the Board of County Commissioners for approval.
Once boundaries are finalized an Enterprise Zone Development Agency will be created and an Enterprise Zone Development Plan will be drafted. The County is required to complete these steps and submit an application to the state for final approval by Dec. 31.
