Police say two people committed theft using counterfeit credit cards being used at 15 Publix Supermarkets in Lee County and two in Collier County.
Asiel Rodriguez, 23, was charged Sept. 4 with three counts scheme to defraud, two counts fraudulent use of credit card, tree counts theft and 17 counts utter counterfeit credit cards.

Viviana Gonzalez, 19, was charged with two counts scheme to defraud, one count fraud use of credit card, two counts theft and four counts utter counterfeit credit card.
Police say the suspects would go to the customer service desk with groceries, cigarettes and paper goods using a Green Dot credit card in payment. The magnetic strip was unreadable so the card number was entered manually. The sale was authorized by the vendor.
Approximately an hour later the transaction was disallowed by the financial institution. The Lee County Sheriffs Office Economic Crimes Unit were assigned to investigate.
