Suspected police killer arrested in Cape Coral

The Lee County Sheriff's Office Major Crimes Unit arrested Scott Vincent Sica, 37, at 7:45 p.m. Wednesday on a warrant out of North Carolina for first-degree murder.

Sica allegedly shot and killed a Jonesville, N.C., police officer Oct. 6, 1996.

The Lee County Sheriff's Office Major Crimes Unit has been working with the Jonesville, N.C., Police Department, North Carolina State Bureau of investigations and the FBI for months on the case.

Sica was arrested at his home at 2059 Ottersrest Lane, Cape Coral, with the assistance of the Fugitive Warrants Unit, Street Crimes Unit and the SWAT Team.
