Hands Across Harbor to benefit CHEC programs

The fifth-annual Hands Across the Harbor walk, run, bike event Saturday, Jan. 26, will benefit the Charlotte Harbor Environmental Center.

The event brings together Charlotte County residents to celebrate the natural beauty of the harbor.

Proceeds will support youth education programs at Alligator Creek. For the past 20 years, more than 2,000 students per year have participated in CHEC's fourth-grade field studies programs and second-grade sea-grass wading adventures.

The Annual Hands Across the Harbor will start from Bayshore Live Oak Park with fitness enthusiasts walking, running or biking over the bridge at the historic Charlotte Harbor and returning to the park for breakfast and family activities, awards, door prizes a chance to win a package to the Royal Plaza, an official Downtown Disney Resort.
