The "Naturalists and the Natives" program at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 27, will feature two speakers at Cedar Point Environmental Park
Jamie Reynolds will give the "Top 10 Reasons to Go Native," on water conservation, providing butterfly and bird habitat and saving time and money.
Reynolds has lived in Punta Gorda 26 years and is retired from Edison State College. She loves hiking in the woods and on beaches where she pursues her avocation as a Florida master gardener and naturalist.
Jean Evoy will discuss "Moth Madness" on species native to central and southwest Florida, including habitat requirements and life cycles. Evoy is retired from Miami-Dade County where she worked as a naturalist, environmental planner and biologist in charge of freshwater wetlands regulation for nearly 40 years. She is past-president of the Peace River Butterfly Society.
