The Lee County Sheriffs Office locked down the Alternative Learning Center Campus at 3650 Michigan Ave. in Fort Myers after learning of a gun threat today.
School administrators reported a student said a gun was on campus.
The school was immediately placed on Code Red Lock Down. Deputies and officers from Fort Myers Police Department secured the premises and diverted traffic from the area.

After a lengthy search the weapon was not located. School officials decided students would be searched by school administrators in the presence of law enforcement.
After the search, all buses were called to campus and each classroom released individually. All students were released simultaneously without incident
The investigation is ongoing.
