Volunteer help amped Johann Fust book sale

March 18, 2013
Gasparilla Gazette

To the editor:

We would like to thank all of the people who made Saturday March 16, such a wonderful and prosperous day for the Johann Fust Community Library Book Sale.

The Boca Grande Woman's Club generously offered us the use of their room during the annual fair, including the signs and other supplies.

The Lee County Parks and Recreation Department set up all the tables, disassembled them at the end and lugged boxes before and after the sale.

Toni and Mary from the Lee County Library were extremely helpful and always available.

Publix gave us lots of bags and just as we were about to box up all the leftover books, the Lemon Bay athletes offered to fill the cartons and help ready them for pickup by Habitat for Humanity.

The volunteers from the Fust Library and the Boca Grande Woman's Club were happy, helpful and enthusiastic.

It would have been impossible to accomplish so much in such a short time without all of you. We can't thank you enough for the total cooperation. What a wonderful example of community spirit.

P.S. There will continue to be a book cart outside the Reference Room at the Community Center so you can buy books there this season. There has been a large turnover and more books are added daily.

Sincerely,

Betsey Hall, Joanne Hall, Neal Rietz
